“Para um movimento que diz acreditar em equidade entre os sexos, é incrivelmente sexista. Para mim a ideia de que abrigos para homens vítimaa de violência sexual é óbvia. De qualquer, forma, muitos homens, mesmo os que são vítimas de violência doméstica, provavelmente nem admitiriam e procurariam proteção por causa da forma que tratamos esses homens; taxando-os de fracos porque, afinal, que tipo de homem poderia ser ferido por uma mulher? Numa época em que homens não podem fazer ou dizer literalmente porra nenhuma a uma mulher sem temer o risco de ser taxado de machista, não é muito difícil para mim acreditar que tem homens por aí que são violentados pelas suas cônjuges o bastante para que precisem de abrigo desesperadamente. Nós mulheres podemos ser bem terríveis às vezes! Seria hipócrita das feministas dizer que homens não podem ser vítimas de violência doméstica, porque isso significa que mulheres são fracas demais para ferir um homem, que é uma noção considerada machista se dito por qualquer um outro (especialmente por um homem). Então não podemos nos enganar e continuar achando que homens não podem ser vítimas de violência doméstica, isso abriria um monte de outras questões, a maioria das quais seria hipocrisia se sugeridas por uma feminista.”

“A movement that allegedly believes in equality of the sexes sure is incredibly sexist. To me the idea of domestic violence refuges taking in male victims seems a no brainer. Many men, even those who are victims of domestic abuse, probably wouldn’t admit to it and seek shelter anyway because of the way we treat such men; blasting them as weak because what kind of man could be hurt by a woman? In a day and age where men literally can’t fucking do or say anything to a woman without fear of being branded sexist it isn’t that hard for me to believe that there are men out there who are abused by their female partners enough to make them desperately in need of refuge. We women can be pretty horrible at times! It would be hypocritical of feminists to indicate that men couldn’t possibly be the victim of domestic abuse because that implies that women are too weak to hurt a man which is a notion considered sexist if said by anyone else (predominantly if said by a man). So we can’t kid ourselves and try to perpetuate that men simply cannot be victims of domestic abuse because that opens up a whole load of other problems, most of which would be hypocritical of a feminist to suggest.”
